Cyfrwng 2012 aims to discuss the relationship which exists between literature and the media within Small Nations. Here in Wales, and especially in the Welsh language, a close relationship has developed between our literary canon and the dramatic productions which are seen on our screens. We hope through this conference to share experiences and ideas about that relationship, its influence and the reaction to it.
The conference will include a mix of sessions where academic papers will be presented by researchers and academics from across Wales and several discussion panels who will be debating matters such as, how Wales’ most prominent authors have worked with the media, the future of arts reviewing in and on our media outlets, the relationship between literature and online media, various forms of adaptation, and how one of the most successful theatre plays of recent years, Llwyth by Dafydd James, will be adapted for the small screen.
